Hero
There was a man, who was a hero
He lived his life, through hardship and sorrow
Years of toil, with no sign of tomorrow
Yet he didn’t give in, the man, my hero

Then came the day, when he had his place in the sun
When the world acknowledged, him and what he had done
He proved what mattered, was not the present but the end
He wanted to be the best, but became a legend

But my hero was vanquished, in the end
Along with his wife, and young son
Who was this monster, you ask of me
It was my hero, who committed this deed

Why should I, be any different
Why should I, be sans emotion
Why should I, forgive you now
Why should I, forget you not

You were then, but you are no more
So there is no question of tomorrow
You were once a hero to me
Now you’re just, a painful memory

Night is here, so go to sleep
Fade away, and find your peace
This is not, what was meant to be
You were meant, to be a hero to me.
